The all new anodized Spyderco Manix 2 Agent scale was a totally re-imagined design. The linerless design reduces overall width and allows better access to the ball cage lock. The Skinny profile, made possible by eliminating the liners, vastly improves ergonomics. The extensive interior milling and linerless construction reduces overall weight of the assembled knife by 1.5 ounces; a 30% reduction in weight when compared to stock! This results in a total assembled weight of 3.4 ounces, which is equivalent to carrying a Spyderco Para 3.

Lanyard tubes have long been a point of contention for many which led us to eliminate the need for one. A lanyard hole is milled into the scale to accommodate those who use them. Spyderco uses the flared lanyard tube to hold the butt-end of the knife together and since it was eliminated in our design, we had to create another contact point in that area. We milled a pocket for a barrel spacer and screws to increase rigidity and stability. Please note that hardware included (two handle screws and barrel spacer) is provided by Knives Plus.

You buy Type III hard coat for toughness not perfect color matching. If you want colors to be exact, please purchase Cerakote. Due to the nature of Type III Hardcoat anodizing there may be slight color variations from batch to batch or side to side. Sometimes there may also be some light mottling in the color, or the grain of the aluminum may show through the coating. This is normal and in NO way affects the performance or function of the grips whatsoever. We feel that it is a worthy tradeoff for a vastly superior coating hardness. The Type III coating we use is incredibly hard (harder than steel actually) and is the MOST durable coating available on the market.

Spyderco Knives are some of the most popular knives on the market, and for good reason. They're well-made, durable, and come in a variety of styles to meet the needs of any knife user. But what makes Spyderco knives so special? The company was founded in 1976 by Sal Glesser and his wife, Gail Glesser. The two initially took to hopping across trade shows and fairs all over the US. Originally just selling the one and only knife in their range, the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker. It wasn't until 1981 that they really hit their stride, with the introduction of the CO1 Worker knife. This was their initial foray into making folding knives and it's fair to say – they nailed it. The knife made use of several ergonomic innovations that have become the industry standard in folding knives today. From then to today, Spyderco has been committed to making the highest quality knives possible, using only the best materials and craftsmanship. Spyderco knives offer users a premium cutting tool through their use of high-end steel that offers a sharp edge that will be retained for years to come. But these are just the standard aspects that make any good knife. Going back to that initial breakaway moment from 1981, Spyderco's main point of difference at that time, and still today, was down to a few key ergonomic innovations that made their knives much more user-friendly for their customers. The first of these innovations is the use of the Spyderco Round Hole. This simple but immensely effective ergonomic innovation changed the game for folding knives. It came at a time when single-handed folding knives didn't open anywhere near as easily as they did once the Round Hole was introduced. It allowed the user to pinch the knife blade between the thumb and forefinger, close to the spine, and lever the blade out. The next innovation was another simple but highly effective addition to what was already a solid blade. This was the pocket clip. Though simple as an idea, this was a huge step forward for everyday carriers and provided the user with stability and security in their pocket, while ensuring other items held in the pocket could still be easily accessed.ÂHow To Clean A Spyderco Knife
After using your Spyderco knife for a cutting task, you may find that it is in need of a clean. The extent to which the knife needs cleaning and what materials you use will depend mainly on what the knife was cutting. For a general mess that hasn't left grease, a simple wipe-down with a rag or towel will suffice. If the knife has been used for cutting up meat or another task leaving behind greasy material, a combination of dish soap and warm water is your best bet. If after using the knife for a period of time and you can see that it is starting to accumulate dust, grim, pocket lint and other residues, you may choose to pull the knife apart and do a thorough clean. Do this by:- Unscrewing the knife and placing any screws and parts on a tray to keep them together.
- Place the knife parts in a bucket with warm soapy water.
- Use a toothbrush or other bristled utensil to scrub everything clean.
- Rinse everything and allow to dry prior to reassembly.
- Put the knife back together, ensuring all screws are done up tight.
