Distinctive, consistent and timeless: the Boker Plus BabyX Flipper Steel bears the unmistakable DNA of Darriel Caston as a compact EDC knife with an industrial corrugated iron look. Far from the usual conventions, the designer has provided the pocket knife with impressive details. The ball bearing sheepfoot blade with a satin finish is made of the particularly hard-cutting D2 steel and is opened by flipper. Jimpings on the back of the blade and the front flipper make it easier to use and, along with the discreet ricasso, are the key design elements that are seamlessly continued in the stainless steel handle. Here, the longitudinally placed jimpings ensure a harmonious tension structure and guarantee a secure grip in all positions. The framelock blends seamlessly into the lines and completes the usual Boker Plus performance. As a further highlight, the polished deep carry clip (tip-up/r) forms a harmonious contrast to the otherwise muted appearance of the folding knife. The practical lanyard hole allows for further attachment options.

Initially operating as a hardware factory in Solingen, Germany, Boker moved into the world of armoury when they began producing sabres in 1829. From there, the German manufacturer saw a lot of success and expanded its operations into a number of other tools and cutlery ornaments. In 1865, Hermann and Robert Boker moved to the United States and Canada, respectively. There, Hermann set up Boker & Co. in New York, and Robert created Casa Boker. The history of all three companies has remained intertwined with one another, maintaining a good relationship throughout their history. The second world war saw the original Boker factory in Solingen bombed and completely destroyed.
