It came at a time when single-handed folding knives didn't open anywhere near as easily as they did once the Round Hole was introduced. After using your Spyderco knife for a cutting task, you may find that it is in need of a clean. The extent to which the knife needs cleaning and what materials you use will depend mainly on what the knife was cutting.For a general mess that hasn't left grease, a simple wipe-down with a rag or towel will suffice.If the knife has been used for cutting up meat or another task leaving behind greasy material, a combination of dish soap and warm water is your best bet.If after using the knife for a period of time and you can see that it is starting to accumulate dust, grim, pocket lint and other residues, you may choose to pull the knife apart and do a thorough clean. Do this by:- Unscrewing the knife and placing any screws and parts on a tray to keep them together.
- Place the knife parts in a bucket with warm soapy water.
- Use a toothbrush or other bristled utensil to scrub everything clean.
- Rinse everything and allow to dry prior to reassembly.
- Put the knife back together, ensuring all screws are done up tight.
