If you already own an Endura, you have one of the best selling knives Spyderco makes. The knife you have just acquired is a bit different from the normal C10 Endura4 Lightweight. It’s now available in a range of new handle colours with full-flat ground blades.
Their FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handles come in new vibrant tones including blue, green, brown, gray and purple. Moulded onto the handle’s surface is Bi-Directional Texturing for slip-free tactile traction. Inside the handle are dual skeletonized stainless steel liners which strengthen the knife without additional weight and double as an anchor for external and internal components to attach through generating more sturdiness and rigidity.

Going back to that initial breakaway moment from 1981, Spyderco's main point of difference at that time, and still today, was down to a few key ergonomic innovations that made their knives much more user-friendly for their customers. The first of these innovations is the use of the Spyderco Round Hole. This simple but immensely effective ergonomic innovation changed the game for folding knives. It came at a time when single-handed folding knives didn't open anywhere near as easily as they did once the Round Hole was introduced. It allowed the user to pinch the knife blade between the thumb and forefinger, close to the spine, and lever the blade out. The next innovation was another simple but highly effective addition to what was already a solid blade. This was the pocket clip. Though simple as an idea, this was a huge step forward for everyday carriers and provided the user with stability and security in their pocket, while ensuring other items held in the pocket could still be easily accessed.ÂHow To Clean A Spyderco Knife
After using your Spyderco knife for a cutting task, you may find that it is in need of a clean. The extent to which the knife needs cleaning and what materials you use will depend mainly on what the knife was cutting. For a general mess that hasn't left grease, a simple wipe-down with a rag or towel will suffice. If the knife has been used for cutting up meat or another task leaving behind greasy material, a combination of dish soap and warm water is your best bet. If after using the knife for a period of time and you can see that it is starting to accumulate dust, grim, pocket lint and other residues, you may choose to pull the knife apart and do a thorough clean. Do this by:- Unscrewing the knife and placing any screws and parts on a tray to keep them together.
- Place the knife parts in a bucket with warm soapy water.
- Use a toothbrush or other bristled utensil to scrub everything clean.
- Rinse everything and allow to dry prior to reassembly.
- Put the knife back together, ensuring all screws are done up tight.
